The beginnings...

So, here we are with our first blog! I'd like to tell you about our path thus far, why I decided to write these, and what you may expect to see in the future here.
The tale is brief and overdone so far, but we had the same experience. I got together with my friends for my birthday in September; we'd planned to build a game together since high school, where I met them. The air became thick with notions of what we wanted to do and achieve in the weeks leading up to my birthday, me leaving university, and all of us wanting to start a professional career.
When I mentioned the thought of creating a game, our younger selves, with their newly acquired knowledge from school, became captivated, and we began talking about how we might make this a reality, what we are capable of in terms of scope, and how to provide a great game. Time passed, ideas flew, and by the time my birthday arrived, we had a firm scheme! .
We want to build a roguelike since it gives the consumer a lot of value, and most of us are fans of the genre. We decided to make it melee since we were playing Genshin Impact at the time and enjoyed the combat feel, which we derived from Black Desert Online, which is still the gold standard of combat in MMORPGs in my opinion.
With a general direction in mind and horses in hand, I applied to a government program that would allow me to plan out the game's design and business operations. I was accepted into the program and spent four months learning about business and the legislation in our country, but the majority of my time was spent designing the game and setting things in motion.
Meanwhile, the team was working on the bare-bones game, learning Unreal Engine, creating models, and bouncing ideas off of me. All of this was accomplished in their spare time after work or school, and I'm delighted we share the same desire to make this happen.
We're getting closer to the demo version now, and we're also working on a gameplay trailer! I was overly optimistic about the timetable at first, but it now appears that we will be on Kickstarter in Q3 of this year.
To wrap up this first blog, I'd like to explain why and what you may expect. I believe it is beneficial for a game creator or studio lead to set out their thoughts, solicit community feedback, and provide an open look at the issues they are encountering as well as what players should expect. I want to be as honest as possible, thus the blogs should act as an incentive for players to leave feedback on our discord or mailing list and engage in conversation.
In the future, you may expect to hear about our goals, challenges, and successes, as well as design ideas, progress, and possibly a sneak peek or two.
I hope you enjoyed reading and are looking forward to seeing Arxeus! The next blog will be published around the kickstarter campaign.
Stay awesome,
